In recent years there have been a number of new names on the LPGA Tour. In fact, some of them have been so good that they have earned the opportunity to take on the men. While no female golfer has been able to completely break into the world of the PGA Tour, they are continuing to play impressive rounds on the golf course and are catching the attention of sports fans everywhere.
One of the newest names breaking into the LPGA Tour is Paula Creamer, who has set herself up nicely as the leader in points for the Tour. She spent much of the recent Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic leading the pack, with a tournament record score of 60 in the opening round. The tournament became more interesting as it went on, as her lead was closed to within four shots by the second day. But the fact remains that Creamer is typically ahead of the game.
Even in this latest event, Creamer has shown that she is human. Not every shot she hit was perfect. For example, a sand ball was hit so deeply that her club actually touched the clay underneath. But her skill has set her apart enough that she is able to control her own destiny. If she plays up to her own standards, she is a forced to be reckoned with. And even when she doesn't present her best game she can shoot 21 birdies and 30 pars on a 54 hole course. That means that Paula Creamer is a name that golf fans won't be forgetting anytime soon.
