Over the past 5 years Tiger Woods had 3 different surgeries on his left knee. In 1994 Woods had a benign tumor that was removed, in 2002 he had a Arthroscopic surgery, and in 2008 he had surgery to correct Cartilage damage. It is this latest surgery that will take Tiger away from us for at least 2 months.
Woods has been having pain in his left knee from the middle of last year. Woods was told by his doctor not to play the U.S Open at Torrey Pines. Tiger was way too determined to win this event to let his body stop him. He ignored the advice given to him by the doctor. Tiger blocked the pain and played 91 holes and beat Rocco Mediate on the 19th hole of the playoffs. This would be the last game played before surgery came into play.
On April 15, 2008 Woods had a season ending surgery on his left leg. The surgery was on the anterior cruciate ligament that was torn 10 months ago while training. Woods recovery will take at least 4-6 weeks. The season ending surgery will leave us Tiger-less for 2 majors and the Ryder Cup.
Tiger at age 32 is known to be a brave man at this point. He is determined and most of all focused on his goals. Through out the pain and torture Tiger never gave up. His hard work, discipline, and dedication lets other know that once you believe it you can achieve it.
