Golf is one sport in which the participants get the least recognition as athletes. However, these athletes endure constant mental challenges throughout their game. Women Golfers like Paula Creamer are no less intense than their male counterparts in training, or in competition. Both Paula’s amateur and professional career has shown a strong work ethic and determination to give it her best. Tours like the LPGA are attracting young female fans, who admire and possibly aspire to have the discipline and athleticism that our pro female golfers exemplify.
Born on the west coast, American Professional Golfer, Paula Creamer has been the lady in pink who sets our expectations as one of the rising stars in the world of women’s golf.
Other professional Golfers are Americans, Michelle Wie and Morgan Pressel, Swedish, Annika Sorenstam, and Mexican, Lorena Ochoa. These ladies have and continue to strengthen the game of golf for women; they are setting record statistics and earnings. Recently, Ms. Wie was once again invited to play in the PGA. It was exciting to watch Annika Sorenstam and Morgan Pressel tee off because both bring their individual style to the game. Sadly, Annika Sorenstam will be retiring at the close of this year.
Lorena Ochoa has won more than half her games this season.
While successful in their careers, these ladies give back to the community. Paula Creamer sponsors golf for young girls, Morgan Pressel raises funds for Breast Cancer research, and Lorena Ochoa hosts a foundation for the less fortunate. We admire and respect their contributions to fund raisers and foundations, but especially enjoy watching them in their field of expertise.
