Paula Creamer; Young but Fierce!

Golf is often thought of as a man's sport with women on the sidelines. That is no longer the case! Women golfers are taking to the green with more gusto than ever! One of the great women golfers today is Paula Creamer.

Paula Creamer or "Pink Panther" to those on the golf course, was born in August of 1986 in California. A young golfer who won her first LPGA Tour when she was 18 years, 9 months and 17 days old, Creamer took up the sport of golf at the age of 10 and quickly grew as a favorite at the junior level. She continued to mature and was noticed outside of the juniors when she was 17 where she tied for 13th at the U.S. Women's Open. Since that time, her amateur victories and honors include 19 national titles, including the 11 American Junior Golf Association tournaments, in 2002 she was a member of the winning U.S. Junior Solheim Cup team, 2003 was named AJGA player of the year, and in 2004 was named Golfweek and Golf Digest Amateur of the Year.

Paula Creamer turned professional in 2005 and had a great year becoming the youngest winner of a multiple-round tournament. However, in 2006 Paula did not have a successful year. Creamer failed to win a tournament and was dealing with a wrist injury for most of the year. In 2007 there was another turning point for Creamer, but this time for the better. She won the SBS Open at Turtle Bay and has had a most recent victory at the 2008 Fields Open.

Although Paula Creamer may not be on the list of the Top Fifty Female Golfers, she is well on her way, so watch out Annika Sorenstam, number one is up for grabs.
