Paula Creamer: The LPGA's Pink Panther

Paula Creamer is a young rising star on the LPGA Tour, known as the Pink Panther.  She almost always wears pink clothing, has a Pink Panther head cover for her driver, and uses a pink golf ball.  Paula is very competitive, but likes that the color pink is associated with her because she feels it expresses her feminine side.

Paula took up golf at age 10 and soon began competing in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).  She won 11 titles.  In 2003, she was named AJGA Player of the year.

In the 2003-2004 year, she played in 10 LPGA tournaments.  At age 17, she tied for 13th at the U.S. Women's Open.  Paula went to Qualifying School at the end of the 2004.  Golf Digest and Golfweek magazines named her the top amateur of 2004.

Paula's rookie year as a professional, 2005, was successful.  She posted eleven Top 10's and came in second on the money list.  She qualified for the U.S. Solheim Cup Team in 2005.  In 2006, she made the Top 10 list fourteen times, but didn't win any tournaments due to a wrist injury.

2008 has been a good year for Paula.  In February, she won the Field Open in Oahu, Hawaii.  In May, she won the Sem Group Championship in Oklahoma.  Paula tied for 6th place in June at the U.S. Women's Open at the Interlachen Club in Edina, Minnesota. In July, Paula won the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic in Sylvania, Ohio.  As of July 29, 2008, Paula is number three on the 2008 LPGA Money List.  No longer can we call Paula Creamer a rising star.  This young woman's star has risen and is shining brightly as she celebrates her 22nd birthday on August 5th, 2008.
