Tiger Woods Knee Surgery

Tiger Woods is a 32 year old professional golf player. He has 14 major championships. Tiger Woods announced on June 18, 2008 that he would be having knee surgery. He damaged his knee jogging just after the British Open. Throughout the year his left knee was giving him trouble. While at the two final events of the PGA Tour season he was having a lot of pain in his left knee. He would occasionally press his foot against a cooler box as he stretched his knee to relieve the pain. He went against his doctor’s advice and played 91 holes. As the days went by, Tiger’s knee started to bother him more often, and was starting to limit his practice time.

Tiger Wood’s operation was performed on June 24, 2008. His surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas Rosenberg and Dr. Vernon J. Cooley. The surgery took place in Park City, Utah. He had Arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage damage. This is Tiger’s second operation on his knee in about five years. The operation turned out fine with no complications.

Tiger Woods should have a well recovery. Honey Hanes, his swing coach, was with him in the room when the doctors had told Tiger that he would have to be on crutches for three weeks. After he done those three weeks on crutches he would have to take three more weeks to let his knee recover. Even though Tiger will miss the rest of the golf season, he is expected to have a full recovery. Everyone of his fans and components are looking forward to having the number one golf player return.
