2008 British Open

With Tiger Woods still out recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery to repair his torn ligaments, who will win the 2008 Major Golf Tournament, the British Open? The PGA ratings for viewership on T.V., as well as people going to watch the tournaments, have gone down. It doesn't take an expert to know that the PGA's ratings have been falling because of the absence of one of the greatest faces in the game, Tiger Woods. Yes, there are players that are great and that many people know like Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh but while they are all very skilled at golf, they don't have the fire and tenacity that Tiger brings to the Tour.

While Tiger Woods has been out, it has allowed for other players to step in and win some tournaments, and it has allowed younger players to have a better chance to display their golf game to the fans. Tiger is hoping to be back in time to play in the British Open, as August will mark his 10th year on tour. He will no doubt want to make it a great 10-year anniversary.

Tiger has had a star studded career so far, shattering records, winning majors, and yet many say that he is just entering his prime now, at 30 years old. Even a Tiger Woods at half strength will prove tough in the British Open and no doubt once he is healed, he will yet again will be one of the favorites to win.
