This question stays on a lot of people’s minds as the PGA Tour goes on without America’s top golfer, Tiger Woods. Due to his knee injury, Tiger will now not be playing in the British Open or the first event of the new PGA Tour season. Although he will not be playing, most of his fans (and those who are fortunate enough to bet money on the match) are excited to see who will win this year’s major golf tournament. Many people will jump to ask this question to the winner: Does it still feel the same to win without Tiger Woods?
The favorite to win this year’s British Open hasn’t really been agreed upon, but many say it will be hard for fans to tune in knowing the best player isn’t playing. Is it fair for the other players to play without the competition of Tiger Woods? It seems as thought this year’s golf tournament will go by quickly since he’s not there. This will be the first time in his career that he has missed such an opportunity.
Some say that his absence from the tournament will bring down TV ratings and drastically decrease the number of ticket sales for the year. Some TV ratings have already dropped almost 50 percent. Three of the four FedEx Cups Tiger Woods played in attracted more people than the one he didn't play in this year. People who attended the previous FedEx Cups have decided not to attend, which caused attendance to drop by 23 percent.
