Karrie Webb is one of the best female golfers in the LPGA today. Born in Ayr, Queensland located in Australia Karrie grew up playing on various golf courses in the area perfecting her techniques. She started her career by being the best in the Amateur leagues in Australia.
Karrie Webb became a pro golfer in 1994 and joined the Ladies European Tour. Her first year with the Ladies European Tour Karrie won the Rookie of the Year award. During her rookie year she became the youngest golfer to ever win the Weetabix Women’s British Open.
In 1996 Karrie qualified and joined the LPGA. During this time she won the LPGA Rookie of the Year award. Also in 1996, Karrie became the first golfer on the LPGA to make a million dollars in one single season. Ever since then her game has been on fire. Karrie won the ESPY Award for Best Female Golfer in 1997. Her biggest money seasons continued in 1999 and 2000. Karrie won the LPGA’s Player of the Year back-to-back in 1999 and 2000. She received the LPGA’s Achievement Award in 2000. Also in 2005, Karrie was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Karrie Webb has seven major championship wins in her career in the LPGA. In 1999 she won the Du Mauier Classic. She won the Kraft Nabisco Championship game in 2000 and most recently 2006. Karrie was the winner in 2000 and 2001 of the U.S. Women’s Open. She was also winner of the LPGA Championship in 2001. Karrie also was the winner of the 2002 Women’s British Open.
Overall, Kerrie Webb has 35 professional career wins which has her tied at number 12 for the most wins in the LPGA. Kerrie currently resides in the United States in Florida and is still one of the hottest professional female golfers today.
