Karrie Webb

Karrie Anne Webb was born on December 21, 1974. She is Australia’s number one female golfer. She is also considered to be one of the top female players in the history of global women’s golf. Currently she does most of her playing in the United States, returning home once or twice a year on the LPGA Tour. When Karrie was a member of the Australian Amateur team from, 1992 to 1994, she made 6 international appearances. One of these was her 1994 appearance in the Espirito Santo Trophy World Amateur Golf Team Championships. This was when she became the Australian Strokeplay Champion.

As one of the longest drivers on the Tour and second in Greens in Regulation, Karrie’s swing is described as “a classic blend of power and accuracy.” She is known for her “waggle." When teeing up, Karrie says the first thing to address is alignment. The second is a long “waggle,” which “ingrains the proper path and resets the correct feeling.”

Karrie has had 9 LPGA Tour victories. In 1996 she became the first rookie to win more than $1 million. Last year she had 21 top 10 finishes. Her scoring average is 70.53 which ranks her at number 3. In 1995 she won the British Open. Other big wins for her were in 1996 when she won the Titleholders. Also in 1996, she won the LPGA Tour Championship. In 1998, she won the Australian Ladies Masters. Her 35 LPGA Tour victories place her tied for 12th on the list of players with the most career LPGA tournament wins. She has a total of 47 professional wins.
