“I love my wedges”, Anna Rawson once commented in a magazine interview. She was talking about her golf wedges, but she could have just as easily been talking about her runway footwear. At the age of 13, Anna started golfing, and credits her grandfather Ken Rawson for influencing her career path. A lot of her family members play golf; she has admitted that some of her interest in golf started as a way to hang out with her brother and his "hot friends". At the age of 16, Anna was a finalist while competing in the Australian “Dolly” Magazine contest. This started her modeling career. She has modeled in print ads, on television and on the catwalk.
While she was competing in the 2000 Australian Open, the University of Southern California set sights on Anna and recruited her for a golf scholarship. Anna helped her team make USC history when they won the school’s first golf national championship. While competing and practicing her golf swing, Anna managed to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Fine Arts with a GPA of 3.4. She has proven that brains and beauty can come in one package.
Anna continues to model, but after college she set her sights on the Ladies Professional Golf Association. In 2004, she committed herself to golf full time, and began working with a professional golf coach. After honing her skills on the Ladies European Tour, The Futures Tour and a range of other tours, Anna earned her LPGA Card in December 2007. Keep an eye on this one -- the best is yet to come.
