Kathy Whitworth

Kathy Whitworth has won 88 LPGA Tour Tournaments and she was the first woman to earn one million dollars playing golf. Of those 88 games Kathy has won one tournament for seventeen years in a row. Now that's more then the great Laura Davies.

Kathy was considered to be a great driver and a perfect putter. She had only played for two years and had won an amateur title two years in a row. Kathy has been admired by all who knew her even though she has had more wins then any golfer ever known, they adore her.

Kathy holds the number one place in career victories and Tiger Woods is tied for sixth place. She said she started out to win one game and when she won that one she wanted to win another one just to know for sure that the first one wasn't luck (or a fluke.) Kathy was a very heavy teenager in high school but playing golf helped get her in shape. She lived to play on the golf course. Kathy always got the ball to go down the middle of the course which is a very good thing to do in golf. Many golfers wish that they could
get the ball in the middle instead of on the side or in the sand trap.

Kathy had the right kind of swing to accomplish that goal every time. She had paved the way for all women to be able to play golf and to prove that women can play as well or better then some men.
