The LPGA inducted Paula Creamer into their Association a soon as she turned 18, in 2005. Paula Creamer, born August 5, 1986 to Paul and Karen Creamer, in Mountainview, California was raised in Pleasanton, where the family's home overlooked the first tee of the Castlewood Country Club's golf course. At the age of 10, she started playing golf and by 12, she had won 13 consecutive regional junior events in northern California. In 2000, she moved to Bradenton, Florida to attend the IMG Golf Academy. She graduated from Pendleton High School, which is affiliated with the Academy, the week after her first LPGA victory in May 2005. She turned professional immediately after the event at the age of 18. She currently lives in Windermere, Florida.
Paula’s friend Casey nicknamed her “Pink Panther” and the name stuck because of her fondness for pink. In addition to her pink outfits, Creamer sports the color on several of her golf accessories, including her club grips and bag. During the last round of each tournament, she uses a pink golf ball provided to her by one of her sponsors.
According to the LPGA Paula Creamer’s earnings are $1,379,232.00. She wants to be known for more than winning golf tournaments and a passion for the color pink. She created Paula 4 Kids Celebrity Event to benefit The First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee, which uses golf to teach youngsters core values such as honesty, sportsmanship, responsibility and confidence. She established one-year scholarships to Pendleton and the DLGA for two area First Tee students.
At 22 years old, Paula has been pro for just four years, in a sport that is played by some in their 80s. We may be watching Paula for many years to come.
