Tiger Woods has undergone knee surgery again. This is his third surgery, and two have been on the same knee. He had his first surgery on his left knee in 2002. He began having pain in the middle of last year. He went to see Thomas Rosenberg, in Park City, Utah. Dr. Rosenberg operated on his knee in 2002. When Tiger went to see Dr. Rosenberg in the middle of last year, the doctor suggested the arthroscopic surgery. Tiger decided to have the arthroscopic surgery this year, instead of having his knee get worse. Most of the time Tiger does not complain about his health issues, because he does want this used against him as a excuse.
In the HealthSouth Surgical Center in Park City, Utah, Dr. Rosenberg performed the arthroscopic knee surgery, it took about an hour for the procedure. The doctor removed fluid from inside and outside the anterior cruciate ligament. This surgery is relatively painless. He also had a benign tumor removed.
Tiger has relatively been injury free throughout his career. With his last surgery he only missed one tournament at the end of the season. He decided to have the surgery this time in the middle of the season, because of the severity the pain. He had been on bed rest for seven to ten days due to the swelling. He had began his light rehabilitation shortly after his bed rest. He will be out roughly, one to two months rehabbing. Since he has been through this before, he should be back swinging like his old self in a very short time.
